Reflection

What do you see?

Today I've been thinking about how the world sees me vs. what I see. Reflection is a wonderful word. In a scientific sense how does light reflect off a mirror to produce an inverted image. Also, we can contemplate what was, is, and will be. To use both is to think about how others interpret the world.

As we strive for social justice it is important to consider the many viewpoints that exist beyond our own.  We all have different life experiences that shape our interpretation of the world.

Today I invite you to spend 3 minutes of quiet reflection to think about someone you've interacted with in the past week that isn't someone you normally work with or interact with. Say a short prayer of uplifting for this individual.

Behold. The door to the tomb has been rolled aside and it is empty. Let us rejoice and be glad. What a confusing time it must have been for Mary and the Apostles that first Easter Sunday. What we celebrate most enthusiastically now must have caused great distress back then. Where was the body of Jesus? Why was He taken? Where is He now? In modern times, how can we take times of distress and interpret them as a celebration. It takes a refocusing of the mind... to see beyond the current circumstance. Those who know me well know I'm fond of saying "Let go. Let God." Part of this is to understand that you have a wonderful place in God's plan. Even though parts of your journey may be troublesome the destination is worthwhile.
